A character consistency brief built around one recurring subject. Julia, a woman in her fifties, held across eight settings, light conditions and wardrobe changes. The direction: prove that identity survives everything around it changing.
A face changes more than any material when the light around it moves. Skin catches differently in window light than in shadow. Bone structure reads differently head-on than in profile. The brief tested Julia against both natural and artificial light extremes, with a mirrored reflections to full morning sunlight.
DETAIL:
Wardrobe moved from liquid gold silk to raw cream fur to a funnel-neck black knit. Setting moved from a private glass-walled room to a double-height dining room to an armchair caught in low afternoon sun. Nothing about the surroundings was allowed to explain away a shift in the woman herself.
The result: a woman who reads as the same person in low restaurant light as she does in full daylight, which is the actual test most AI character work fails.
